Tried to turn over my 2003 Ram 1500 and the key would not turn. The steering wheel is locked and I tried to move it either way yet NG. I even asked one of my neighbors, a mechanic to take a look. He tried to no avail and said this was his first. I took the steering column guard off and was successful to jimmy the shifter to move to the neutral. Still NG.
Does anyone have any ideas before I get it towed?

id say its the tumbler its self it have it changed or do it your self (your mechanic buddy should be able to do it too) some locksmiths also do it and some will come to you

 

The tumbler is broken inside the cylinder, get it turn to the on position (if you can) and push the tab on the bottom otf the housing to release the cylinder. if you cant turn it, you may have to remove the whole housing using thats held by several tamper proof torx screws.
