Need the build code for 34gal. 1500
I'm in search of the build code for a 1500 Ram that has the 34 gallon fuel tank. The parts dept. now only goes by vin number, or build codes. So if anyone knows the build code for this option, or could provide me with the Vin of a 1500 Ram with the 34 Gallon tank, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
... I'm looking into changing my truck from 26 gallon to 34 gallon, because I had orignally wanted this option, but could not locate a truck with the larger tank.

What year 1500? In 04 the only ones that came with the 34 gal tank was the Offroad Package (which was why I wanted this option). They might have made it more accessible for 05 - not sure.
The 34 gallon option was available for all 1500 Quad Cabs, mid-'04 on. I did some extensive research into this about a year ago. It was too expensive for me to justify. Wish I had kept all the information; would have been able to post the part numbers. Needless to say, parts alone were a tad over $1000, including tank, fuel pump, sending unit, misc. hardware, and straps.
Thanks GIRam but I think your truck has a different enough frame that it would not work on my 2005. I know the front of your frame is different, not sure about the rest of it towards the rear. Thanks for the help though.
The Chrysler Sales Code you are looking for is NFU. This is for a 34 Gallon take that was an option on 2004 1500 Ram Pickups. The Chrysler part number for the tank is 55366067AE. The Fuel Pump part number is 5134554AC. Looks like your straps are the same. Hope this helps.
I have a 34 gallon tank in my 05 Q/C. It came from the dealer that way. I don't understand why they would need another vin number from another truck. I don't think someone posting there vin number on the net would be a good idea. Theives would be all over that one.
