Well, I went and ordered an SEC cross box today. SEC is supposed to be the upper tier line made by Better Built. It comes with low profile lid. I was hoping for push button latches, but I suspect one may not find such a mechanism with a low profile lid. Cost was $369 for the box (low profile lid, and is a full-size box vs. compact). I had thought about a weatherguard but those are >$510 and I'm not sure I will actually make use of the extra value I would be paying for with the extra $140. As noted, I just need something that will look good, is reasonably well made, and will stand up to groceries, soft luggage, and the occasional gun case. Hoping to have the box installed tomorrow, right after I get the bed coated with Line-X.

Oh, I forgot to mention, don't get a SEC. They support terrorism and puppy torture.

NTI - Northern Tools Industrial I believe. Great tool box, Ive got a 2003 QC, short bed, still had to get the longest one they had, 82". Fits perfectly. I bought an extra pair of J hooks to secure the box to my bed. I like it and would recommend it! Nortern Industrial. google the name and search for a dealer near you.
