Buddy of mine says his 01 Tundra ex cab 4wd 4.7L V8 will smoke my 05 ram single cab 2wd 4.7L V8.... Anybody knows hp and tq of that year.... I told him put up his money...

 

I don't know about smoking your truck, but I think they had like 231HP or something like that. The engines are well matched, but the Ram is a little portly compared to the Yota. It should be close.

As an everyday truck, I'll take the Ram over the Yota any day.

 

I think the 2000 tundra came with 240hp. The 04 Ram comes with 235hp. Not to sure if the hp ratings changed in a year.

The Tundra is smaller than the ram....but its also pretty damn heavy. I heard that the tundra 4wd's were having issues with the front end getting jacked up when offroading because of this. So it should be a close race

 

That's why I have a HEMI. Nothing better than the look on someone's face as you whoop them off the line in a full size QuadCab pickup.

 

I read a test in truck trend about 6 months ago where there was about 6 trucks tested and it gave the quarter mile times,it broke it down from 30mph to 60mph e.t.c,
chevy,titan,dodge ram q cab hemi,tundra,ford.they were all big cab trucks,but believe it or not the tundra was quicker to 80mph than the hemi,the titan was on par with dodge.
I was shocked,somebody said it was the weigh and the gearing difference.

 

Tundra is a little truck compaired to a Ram. It is more in the size of the Dakota. Tell your Bud you will race him when he gets a mans truck

 

But his is 4wd and a 4 door mine is single cab 2wd... I think i will smoke him i know the new tundras put out 270 hp in a 4.7L

 

I own both a '01 tundra and Dodge. 245hp is correct for the 01 tundra but he can quickly add up to 290 with very little effort or money. the tundra will be a good race for you and note he will not spin if launched in 4x4 high. torque is made quick in the toyota.

Its 100% factory except for his over sized remington mud brutes and flows i think i will take him... Heavier, more wieght to launch 10 more hp, nut sure about tq...

 

You might be able to take him. The 4X4 gear on his truck will cause it to be a bit slower than if he was a 2WD, keep that in mind.

But sense they are tucks... Tell him "I will race ya for pinks after we go to the quary each get 1 tone of gravle in the back..."
But if you put that kind of load in his little truck you might not want his now worthless pink! LOL

Don't worry about anke biters like him. He's just jellous of your big truck and is trying to prove something. You have nothing to prove.
