That does suck. It's my understanding that my ram has a bit of protection tho. It's an 06, so maybe they changed things. From what I understand, the key is "sentry" meaning it has a chip in it. If you don't know, in the 06 the door lock/unlock alarm thing is part of the key, and I guess theres a chip inside there so that if the chip isn't next to the ignition, the truck will not start. From there, if somebody trys to hotwire it or start it with a key that doesn't have the chip, every 3rd time they try the truck will be dead for an hour, unable to start even with the real key. Try three times, dead for an hour, try nine times it's dead for three hours. Not sure what I really think about that, would suck to come out and find wires hanging out around my ignition and my truck unable to start. ;o

And this helps me how? should have posted it in another section. not meaning to be an *** or anything but, it does have absolutly nothing to do with the topic.

P.S. if a theive wants your truck he/she will get it, sentry key, club, rotty, pitbull, electroshock handles, or what ever else you can think of they can get around.

Just a little info I think he'd like to share with us clamsjagger. But I know that thieves will do anythin' to get there treasure. Just watch Maximum Exposure on Spike T.V. and you can see how dumb thieves really are. If ya ask me, thieves should be locked up for good 'cause they will just do it again once they get out. But the whole gettin' let out of jail thing just proves how messed up society is. Sorry to here about your loss again clamsjager. Always a shot through the heart when a loved one passes.

well right know im just waiting on the afadavid <spelling> and once i mail it back they will send it to the mass loss department and i should have a check within a week of them getting it. I already got my eyes and a refundable deposit on a new car, just incase the truck reapears. *prays it doesnt* Im going to go with a 05 srt-4 loaded. tryed trading my truck in a while back for one and know i can get it without having to eat 7k for the trade in. talked them down to 19,500 out the door. the cars got the kicker system, arc comp group, moon roof, and so on. im going to have them install the stage 3 and a greddy blow off valve before it leaves the dealership.

hey just be glad i didnt go to scion, or honda. im sticking with dodge.

Wow. I was trying to be a nice guy by letting you know that if you get a new ram they are trying to do something against all the ram theft. Just to let you know that dodge is trying, and to not give up on them. ;/ It did have purpose here, or I wouldn't have posted it.

Mine stolen from my drive in eastpointe Mi, right outside detroit. 3 months ago. I was so agravated that I sold my house and moved because I felt my privacy was invaded having two kids and all. Now I live in a neighborhood with no stinkys and so far no problems. Hope to keep it that way, because I cant go shooting someone over my ram (which I very well may do if I caught them) safety and family first when Im rationaly thinking!!! Good luck

I got the Mopar alarm with imobilizer that disables the starter unless the car is unlocked with the remote. It may sound like a crappy setup but when i first got the truck, i unlocked it with the handle lock and tried to start it, the damn thing wouldnt budge. The electrics didnt even turn on. The head tech came out and said "Son, this mopar system is connected to the ECU, there is no way ur gunna move it with the engine computer being connected." I later find out that if the alarm is removed by force (say...a theif pops the hood) then the ECU shuts down. I guess my truck wont go anywhere. Maybe thats something to consider when buying that SRT-4. Also, the Viper system with remote start does the same thing. Just my .02
