Default Which brand of speakers do you perfer?

Hey all, this is my first poll so git out there and vote! well im looking to upgrade my crappy 4 speaker system in my 2005 QC but im trying to determine what is the best system to go with. Im kinda being pulled between Alpine and Sony. I also want to put some subs under the back seat but im worried that if the seat is down (and/or people are sitting on the seat) that the sound will be greatly resticted... any thoughts? also i already have 2x 12" pioneer and a 760w 2ch sony amp from my 95 jeep 4x4 that i traded in on the truck. Ive heard that the bigger the speaker under the back seat will actually give LESS base due to the small amount of space, and 8" or 10" subs will actually sound better.

I plan on putting 3x 3.5" speakers in the dash (powered by the aftermarket CD player), 2x 6x9's in front doors and 2x 6.5" in the rear doors (powered by a nice 4ch amp) and 2x 10" subs under the back seat (powered by the 760 that i have left over). i already looked on e-bay for sony systems and i found that i can buy: 2x 6x9's (400w max 100w RMS), 2x 6.5's (270w max 55w? RMS), 2x 3.5's (120w max 25w RMS), 2x 10" subs (1200w max 330w RMS), a custom fit 2x10" box for under the back seat, and a 600w 4ch amp all new/in box/shipped to my door for $500. (still looking for a indash CD player) then i would have to worry about installation, i would be afraid to do it myself, especially since im going from 4 speakers to the 7 speaker setup and on a brand new truck with not even 5k mi on it

What do you guys think is the best system to go with and what comments do you have on this sony deal that i found???

Thanks,
-David

For for an Alpine head unit and JL speakers, subs, and amps. Can't go wrong with Alpine and JL.

I really don't like JL. It's cheap junk imo, but of course I haven't even looked at them since I had JL subs back when I was in highschool. ;/ If you really want quality, go with bostons. If you want affordable, everybody seems to think JL is the best bang for the buck. I do agree with the alpine headunit.

I needed to install new speakers on my truck when i bought it so i rolled over to Tweeter Audio and spent some time in their audio room and was totally Sold on Boston Acoustics,IMO there is better I think Kicker and JL sounded a bit( just a bit) better accordingly the Price was getting way high for those. And I did listen to Pioneer and Sony and they just don't compare but i had to listen to these at Circ/city since Tweeter Doesn't carry them for the same reason so they said.
So i do suggest spending time at the Audio Rooms and having time to decide even if it means sending the sales guy out for awhile.
And yeah they Sound sweet in the truck and with the FActory Deck, Already have a Sony 10" Sub and alpine amps to install soon.

i personally like polk, did all four doors with polk and 2 mtx subs added 2 amps one for the subs and one for the mids and it was a huge difference. the stock system really sucks my next ram will have the cheapest stereo they offer just so i can go aftermarket! but anything you buy will sound much better.

I really like MB Quart, but that will probably be out of the range you are looking at. As far as performance per dollar, I like most that you mentioned, but I'd choose the Boston Acoustics. It all has to do with the model. Each brand has crappy models and high end models.

sorry rob[GL] i forgot to add a misc vote[:-] but i was taking a Business Law test[:@] and im just now getting home from it. I added the "other" if you would like to vote on that if you havent already.

Thanks for you comments all, ill look into those fosgates, looks like that is what the majority is saying, with an alpine head unit.
