i just picked up a set of new yukon 4.10 gears and a alburn limited slip unit for my ram since my old rear end blew up on me. well the head tech at work put it all on double checked everything and now it is noisy as hell. louder then the radio. ne ideas and anyone else have this problem with yukon

 

Did you have the ring and pinion dialed in. If it isn't setup right, you will definitely have a lot of gear whine. There should be some back lash also. Info should be available in the FSM.

 

everything was set right and checked 2 times before driving. the gears where put in by a tech thats been working there for 28 years. everything is right i think the hosing or little things that holds everything together might be messed p when i lost my rear end 2 weeks ago

 

Did you get your gears from RANDYS? ... if so you may want to ask them EXATLY what gears they sent you.. they have a tendancy to just send ANY old gears available when they do not have the YUKONs on hand. And its quite possible they actually sent you there "VALUE GEAR SET" which they have tried to pass off as YUKONs to me.... I stay away from RANDYS because they are SHADY!

the box said yukon on them so i was guessing they where yukons. i called the guy i ordered them from there and he said he sent me the yukons and the limited slip unit i ordered and they shouldnt make any noise what so ever. so right now im stumped. i guess i will find out tomarrow when he puts it back together for the 2nd time

 

how much does it cost to put on new gears?Labour?
and how much are the gears?
