Exhaust problem
Hey all,
I recently bought a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab long bed 2wd. Im 19 and still live at home with my mom she had one request with the truck and that was i couldn't put a loud exhaust on it. Im tryin to find a stock volume exhaust that will still give me some decent gains with performance. Thanks people for help ahead of time.

Well there isnt any exhaust that will keep the sound the same I think, but I'd say Magnaflow or Borla would be quietest. Probably not quiet enough for your mom's tastes, but the quietest aftermarket systems. Flowmasters are just too loud heh.
Stick with the stock exhaust and then when you want a little fun.............................ELECTRIC CUTOUTS [sm=badbadbad.gif] ha ha ha.
Cheaper than a new exhaust and some gains to go along with them as well.

IMO, just swap the muffler. I put a Flowmaster 40 series muffler in place of the stock one and left the resonator on. Sounds good to me. Here's a video: http://videos.streetfire.net/iPlayer...7-CDFAF157983A
Plus, it was only about $150 for the muffler and installation. You probably won't see anything drastic in perforamce wise with a new exhaust, other then the sound.
