Default Any recommendations on shocks?

I am thinking about upgrading my stock shocks and wanted to see what you guys recommended. I have a 4x4 (stock ride height), sees some offroading (nothing extreme), but I want a less stiff and bouncy ride.

I was doing some research on the following:

http://www.gorancho.com/products/sho...m]RanchoRS5000

Bilstein

Monroe

I am leaning towards Bilstein, and from what I've heard, they are a good product.

Go with the Bils and you won't be sorry. There is also the RS9000's from Rancho. The RS5000's have been reported to be on the stiff side. I have experience with Bils and RS5000's. Both will improve the handling, however, the ride characteristics are due to the suspension. A truck will never ride like a car, well, a REAL TRUCK will never ride like a car.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

I'm not looking for a car like ride, but the truck handles uneven terrain pretty crappy (unlike other trucks I have owned or rode in). I am thinking of getting the heavy duty shocks from Bilstein. They are going for around $65 online. I read too many bad reviews on the Rancho RS5000's.

I have seen some KYB shocks that look nice, but I also like the Rancho shocks

I saw those online, but haven't been able to find anyone to ask if they liked them. Same thing with the Edelbrock shocks.

I installed Bilsteins and they actually helped a little with the bouncing also.

I forgot about the Edelbrock IAS shocks. I kinda defaulted to the Bilsteins/Rancho shocks. I've 'heard' that the Edelbrocks are good, but had a few problems with the seals, not any first hand experiences with them though.

I don't think that you will go wrong with the Bilsteins.
