Anyone replace sparks plugs on a Hemi?
I will be doing this next winter, should have about 15K on my truck then. It is before the 30K recommendation, but thinking of upgraded plugs, plus I get really bored in the winter. That is when I get all my car projects done.
I put the NGK V-Power Spark Plugs in took about 2-3hrs and new 8.2 Taylor Thunder Volt Wires well now all I get is 9.8 mpg Highway doing about 65mph befor with the champions and the stock wiers I was getting about 14.8 to 16.5 mpg so Im thinking about going back.
another 2-3hrs and a cut up arm but what you going to do.

I ordered G-Powers from NGK but got V-Powers instead (slightly less quality). I talked to Dodge and they said you didn't have to replace the cables to the coil packs so I'll probably let it slide. (First time I was ever told NOT to spend money by the dealership)
I'm working witht he company I ordered the plugs from to get the right ones. Hopefully I can let you know how they run.

My truck has 15,000 miles on it, Since I bought my new Pt Cruiser Convertible and am now getting around 22 miles per gallon locally I won't have to worry about plug for about 10 years at the rate that I'm driving the Ram. I got the PT in January and only drove the Hemi twice since then. Ihave two PT's and one Quad Cab 4x4.
$200 labor?, wow..with the right tools the plug change is easy, just time consuming, took me about an hour an a half for plugs an less than 10 minutes for the wires (I didn't do them at the same time)
I just went with stock Champs and have been satisfied. There are a bunch of previous threads on this, but nobody seems to think the muti-tips do anything, especially with 2 plugs/cyl on the Hemi. Plan ahead, though. I went to about 4 parts stores one Saturday am, and the only place that had them was NAPA, and they only had 8.
It took me all afternoon (with a couple of breaks and a few beers). Make sure you have some swivels and a variety of extensions, then it's no big deal.
