Default Order/Price Mods 4.7L

Since ive decided to stick with my bone stock 4.7L, I need to know what is the most efficient/effective way, price wise and power wise, (I would assume first-CAI and last-S/C), to stick modes on my truck, ive heard many people saying that CAI and exhaust are the first 2 essentials that you should get, which im guessing will run me in the neighborhood of about 500 for both, is this correct? Im looking to keep up with my bro's '02 Mustang GT (stock) but without hurting my gas too much.

Im looking at the combo pack from AIR RAM which includes his custom AIR RAM CAI, JET STREAM scoop, and Power Wire (found here http://www.airram.com/products1_COMBO_2.htm ) is this a good deal for $300 from those of you who have it or know people that do? Ive seen K&N CAI's for around 230ish, is the PW and the JET STREAM scoop worth the extra 70 or should i just go with the CAI from AIR RAM / K&N / ??? ? I was also wondering if the Power Wire is good for a daily driver wanting more HP, its says that it can add 2% more fuel, will that affect my MPG alot? and will the 20 degree change to the comp mess up anything in the electronics department?

So if you can give me some suggestions on what you think is the best order (eg 1-10) and the prices of these mods it would be GREATLY appreciated. I am a newbie in this Modifications Game, its sad to say but basically all i know is what ive read and obsorbed from reading yall from this site [and some from a friend that was into "underground street racing in NY" with his '99 Integra (which with the new turbo hits 140+ in 3rd gear)] . So i would like to thank you all for helping me this far in making my FIRST Dodge (and truck for that matter) experiece that much better.

Thanks in Advance,
-David

I have the same truck in silver. Don't expect much in the way of horsepower. The truck is pretty heavy so as far as keeping up with a Stang, I am not sure about that. You could blow it a away with a HEMI maybe but the 4.7L is not that agile. If you want quick response off the line to Kick the Stang's ***, look into changing the gear ratio to 4.10 or 4.56 This will also help if you go to those 20" or 22" rims. The 4.7 will lose some acceleration if you go to a larger tire, rim combo if you are running 3.55 gears , which I am assuming you have if you have stock 17" rims. Good luck with the mods.[sm=americanasmiley.gif]

If the HEMI will blow it away then a 4.7L with the right mods will BLOW away a HEMI.... At least to the 1/4 mile.

I agree on the gears.... I have 4.56's and would have it no other way. I get better fuel economey and head snapping off the line performance.

4.56's
Electric Fan
AIR RAM INDUCTION SYSTEM
HIGH FLOW MUFF
FAST MAN or KRC 206 cams
SUPER CHIPS

This list of mods will have you smoking a 5.7L in the same size truck as yours... So you will be able to beat ANYTHING the 5.7L can ... including the 5.7L

ASP Underdrive pulley
Power Wire
JET STREAM SCOOP
FAST MAN PORTED HEADS
Shift kit

Adding these mods will just add to the fun

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM
