CHRfoster, if your truck already came with the 20's you probably have 3.92's which are not bad but 4.10's or 4.56's will snap your neck pretty good. Look in your glove box, you will see a sticker that tells you the specs of your truck. It will list gear ratio there.

I dont know what you are talking about, a 4.7 "smoking" anything a Hemi can. There isn't much in the way aftermarket parts for the 4.7.

I have seen a supercharger, but a 4.7 equipped with it still couldn't beat a reg cab short bed Hemi. To keep up with a Hemi even, you'll find yourself spending lots in mods, if you want to be quick, you'd be better off getting a Hemi. Don't count much on keeping up with a GT mustang,l unless you've got a couple thousand to spend.

Well since AIRRAM has proven these modes works, and by works i mean that he can outrun a stock HEMI by 3+ truck lengths in the 1/4(?) mile, then i will have to agree that he knows what he is talking about. I agree if money was not an option, and i wanted the power NOW, then i would trade it in and get the HEMI. But with an extra 1K a year for the next 3 years, i will be DESTROYING a stock or lightly tuned HEMI with my 4.7L... so get ready HEMI's... the lil 287ci is comin for ya...

There is PLENTY of aftermarket for the 4.7L:

--CAMs: H/O cams, 206 grind, 212 grind, 218 grind and I think there are a few more grinds so we do have a choice of Cams.

--H/O intake manifold, and the 2003-Up manifolds are the best performing. Anything PRE- 2003 needs to goto the dump Unless its a 2002 H/O intake!!

--After market INDUCTION SYSTEM (=AIR=RAM=> all the way!)

--Ported Heads... I have FAST MAN ported heads... Im still trying to get them tuned but when I do I expect to run LOW 9's if not high 8's in the 1/8 mile... that is single cab HEMI territory... with my QUAD CAB 4.7L!

--Throttle bodys, I have the FAST MAN 70MM throttle body... GREAT MOD!

--Headers, I have the Gibson Headers, bolted up in 2.5 hours... (I talk allot so this is why it took so long)

--Underdrive pulleys, I have the ASP pulley and feel it was a great mod. If you get a USED pulley MAKE SURE it has been modified by ASP for free... they had a recal on all 4.7L pulleys last year.

--Ross Forged Pistons, I have not done Forged pistons yet.

--H/O Forged Cranks, I will do this when I get the Pistons

--Programers / Custome tunes (So Far SUPERCHIPS is the best! BG Tune did not work, Im giving Leach a shot at it Next )

--Superchargers/Turbos, Posibly next year for me.

Not to mention OTHER mods that help make you guick:

4.56 gears
Shift Kits 45RFE/545RFE
Stall converters
Electric fan
Light weight Rims/tires

Im sure there is more but these are just a few off the top of my head. Its all about the right combo of mods to make the most power. Just sticking a Supercharger on a stock 4.7L with stock cams and stock heads will yeild approximately 40-50 HP... BUT that Supercharger with my the ported heads I have will add 100+HP.... With just that one bolt on.

Either way ... there is a LARGER aftermarket for the 4.7L than the HEMI at this point.... dont get me wrong, Im sure by the end of NEXT year the HEMI will have just as much available.

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

LOL... I wish it was 3 truck lengths at the end of the 1/4 mile. BUT that was not the case... With the mods in that post I was beating the same size HEMI (Quad Cab HEMIV vs. My Quad Cab 4.7L) in the 1/4 by a 1 half truck length... the HEMI HP really kicks in at the top end of the track. On the 1/8 mile tracks I win by 2.5 or 3 truck lengths with a 9.91 to the average STOCK HEMI 10.2-10.3... this is at KENEDALE speedway in Fortworth Texas... I understand some tracks are faster than others and some STOCK HEMIS have run in the 9's, this only means my truck would run even faster on that track as well.

Just give it a lil more time AIRRAM, and a few more modes including that S/C that your talking about and youll be 3 truck lengths in the 1/4 mile

anyway i was wondering if you have any information on where the WARRENTY comes into play with all this aftermaket mods? like i said i just purchased this 2005 QC in october and it has the 7/70 on it. So if anything will VOID the warrenty then i might have some second thoughts about it... Let me know if you have any thoughts off the top of your head, if i recall you have a 2002 QC and i believe the 7/70 wasnt offered in 02/03. so im not sure if you can help me on this, but if you or anyone knows anything about this subject i would really like to know before i VOID my remaining 6.5/65 warrenty on my truck[:'(]
