Default 2 questions

When I start my truck after its been off for about 2 hours, the transmission cooler fan and radiator fan are always on, even though its -2 C outside. Theyre blowing pretty hard too. When I go to take off it seems like the fans blow harder as the engine revs then suddendly they shut off and everythings fine.

My other question is, When start my truck cold, I back up and it sounds like my rear brakes are still locked and I get a loud squek. It only happens when my truck has been sitting for awhile. Does anyone else have this problem??

Same thing happens in my truck. I don't think it's anything to worry about bro... As soon as I leave my parking lot and hit the road, which is literally within 20 seconds or so from my parking stall, the fans go down to a totally normal level.

IF YOU HAVE DEFROSTER ON IT WILL KICK ON A/C FAN. THE RADIATOR FAN ALWAYS TURNS ITS ON THE SERPITINE BELT. YOU MIGHT BE HEARING THE CLUTCH FAN ROARING ON FIRST START-UP

my '03 4x4 does the same thing with the fans. It sounds like a monster when I first pull away. Even after warming it up a bit.

It is just that ..... the CLUTCH in the fan, when you first start your truck the fan clutch is locked and thats what you are hearing the FAN ROAR as if its a flex fan.. and once it frees the clutch you wont hear a thing. It is normal.

My 03 does it too.
As 06REDRAM says, If you have the defrost set to on, the AC will kick in, as well the auto de-frost on your electric heated mirrors.
Read the owners manual for your heater/blower/AC settings.

Thanks for all the feedback.

have you guys noticed that the fans will only go on when the truck has been run that day? when its the first start of the day, the fans never go on! its almost silent except for the engine ticking.

"my '03 4x4 does the same thing with the fans. It sounds like a monster when I first pull away. Even after warming it up a bit." I warmed my truck up for about 10 mins and the fans were still going.

I am here in Florida where it is warm, and mine does the same thing. Nothing to worry about. Stops immediately. Usually happens only when I am on some kind of grade like my driveway.
