Whats the best programmer for a 2004 Hemi. I was wanting one that got rid of torque managment and that I can switch back to factory settings. How much do they cost?

I just got a Superchips #3815 for my 04 Hemi. Love it. You can program it for fuel economy (87 octane), performance (91 octane), towing, and return it to stock. I got mine for $375 at a local performance shop.

Can you tell a good difference in acceleration and is it the kind that gets rid of torque managment?

It doesn't get ride of the torque management, but it has more low end power. The top end pretty much stayed the same, which is okay by me, I wanted it for low end. Check out the dyno page from Superchips:

http://www.superchips.com/~superchip...kepdf-1270.pdf

From the dyno, it adds the most HP and torque at 3500 RPM's - which is easy to hit. My experience is, you don't really notice a difference cruising (at or under 2000 RPM's), but you'll notice it if you stomp on it off the line or on the freeway.

I also have the SC 3815...a world of difference than stock....yes, takes away TM, It stays in gear thru the powerband... and it also doubles as a diagnostic reader, reads and gives you the error codes as well as what the codes mean, you can return to stock anytime (b4 i take it in for any service...10 minutes to program)...

TM changes gears right away...SC will let you stay in gear longer...some guys complain that it stays in a gear too long... so i believe it disables TM

I set my hemi up with the Hypertech Programmer III part# 50013. On the Hypertech, you can set up your program for stock, 87 octane or 93 octane. I get 19-23 MPG driving 1 MPH to 55 MPH. When I climb to 65 it still gets 17 MPG, but when I go to 70 plus it only get a range from 14-15.5 MPG. Soon I'm going to set up the program with 87 octane but I'll use plus grade fuel and see what happens with the mileage. I'll keep you posted.
