I'm installing a Hypertech Power Programmer in my 04 Hemi 1500 Quad 2wd. I'm getting the following diagnostic trouble codes P2299 and P2161. Anyone have info? Thanks.

 

These can be related. The P2161 is a speed circuit issue. The P2299 I believe is another throttle position miscalibration. You been doing brake stands? Holding the brakes and doing burnouts after the Hypertech install?

 

Do you have any dash lights coming on? Call Dodge and if they don't help call a place that does diagnostic checks and act like your going to bring it in and simply ask the what the codes mean so you know how much it will cost, just to see if you have enough money. Sometimes they won't tell you over the phone because they don't want you to fix it yourself....Sneaky but effective.

 

Does anybody know if there is an online listing linking the code to the problem? I had mine scanned at the local Autozone for free but in order to get a description it must be taken to a dealer...[:'(] It was code 1491 or 1419, cant remember exactly.

 

The codes are all listed, and the diagnostics for each in a downloadable format from somewhere here on the Forum.
The hardest thing to do is find them in the manual.
