Default exhaust

[sm=smiley25.gif] I just got my 06 Fri. I must admit it has a lot of power, but I already new that. However, it is very quiet. I figure I would add duals, but I didn't know if there was anything else to it to make them sound better. I never changed my last truck from stock, and my wife and a ram with glass pacs when we started dating. Will just changing it to duals make it louder, or should I add something else. I was also curious if it would change my performance. I read were people were talking about the back pressure. I really don't what would be best. I don't want to spend a fortune, I just want it to sound good and not lose any performance. [sm=dontgetit.gif]

I felt the same last year when I got my 05 hemi. Felt it needed to be a little louder. I went with a magnaflow dual exhaust setup. People had told me it was the quietest of the name brand aftermarket cat backs, which was importan to me because the wife was going to be using this truck most of the time and I didn't want an idle drone driving her crazy. Just needed to have a little more sound to the truck, especially when going down the street.

I got it along with a K&N full intake system. I did not notice any power gain what so ever, just a nice sounding air intake and exhaust sound when laying on the gas.

I think I spent about $500.00 including installation.

If you just want sound unbolt the stock muffler and replace it with the muffler of your choice, IMHO money is wasted on a full cat back.. My personal favorite is the flowmaster 40 series, a lot of people like magnaflow or borla also.

stykthyn, you are absolutely right! But the five bills was worth the look of the dual exhaust pipes coming out the rear of the truck. Probably would not do it again on my next hemi though.

The 06's are rediculously quiet... I don't know why each year they keep trying to make our trucks even quieter... If you haven't done so already, I would drop the resonator...

What is the resonator? Also do you gain any loudness if you chop off the exhaust right after the muffoler?
