Default Changing Shift Points ONLY

Hello, Im trying to find the cheapest way to change the shift points for my fathers truck, im very unfimiliar with dodge and american cars in general but I have done tuning with a laptop, piggyback computer. Is there anyway I can just change the shift points with an OBDII cable and some sortof laptop software? if not, what is the cheapest way to go about doing this? thanks for your help!

Not to sound like a smart a$$, but when I want to alter my shift points, I just use the tow haul mode. It is nice for around town so that the OD isn't always kicking in and out and in and out.....

Edit: ok yeah, tow haul mode, like with an "e" not a modification, He does use that but he wants to change things a bit more

If this is possible I would love to hear more about it. I want to adjust the shift points while in tow haul mode. But I have nothing to offer for help or info.

I don't even know if the programmers available alter shift points. Perhaps someone with a chipped truck can shedsome light on this.

I need to make afew more payments first though. Just 55 more to go:-(. DAVE

Im pretty sure most of the programmers offer that option of changer shift points....also you can buy a stall converter but thats not cheap and it might void the warranty. just look up programmers for the truck and they'll list what all they can do for the truck. what type of truck does your dad have? model & engine

The Hypertech programmer doesn't change the shift points, it just firms up the shifting a little bit. There is no option to reprogram at what RPM they are set to shift at. It's designed for dummies like me to just plug in, choose a few options like what octane you want and whether you want "firmer shifts" and that's it.
