Default Hello Everyone

Hi, I am new here, first post. I am in Canada and my main hobby is building rigid chops. Needed a way to haul parts etc so just recently picked up a 03 4.7L auto Quad Cab 4 wheel drive. Nice truck, runs and drives very well but very disappointed at the fuel economy or lack of! I read up on it and most of not all complaints were due to the very poor mileage. I figured .....well just how bad can it really be? lol Seems it is far worse then I could imagine! What kind of milage do you folks see, around town and not in 4 wheel drive? Ihave the 26 gallon tank (98L) How many miles are you guys getting to the tank? Any tips to increasing economy some? Thanks for any input.....

The very first post in the 3rd gen forum is about the miles per gallon issue, it talks about what everyone is getting, what they are doing to improve it, and what are the best things to do/add to get the best fuel economy. This should be a link that takes you to it, if i messed up with it, then just go to the post that says (i believe) "Miles per gallon - what are you getting?"

Hope this helps,
-David

PS Ya, full size trucks to drink a TON of gas.[:'(] 4.7L and 5.7L all complain about it, just something that you got to improve on, by either driving habits, or modifications, such as an intake, gears, exhaust, etc.

I Won't hold it against you that you are from Canada. [sm=americanasmiley.gif][sm=joke.gif] These trucks all have crappy gas mileage. Just depends on your driving habits. Don't lay on the throttle and you should see your mileage go up. An air intake and aftermarket exhaust may help a little, but not much. A tonnaeu cover is a good idea too but if you are hauling Motorcycle parts that may not work. If you find something that helps you save gas, let us know.
