Things like that work remarkably well, or you could just go and repaint it

I have the clear shield on my truck, I don't know who it is made by it came dealer installed, but it works very well I think, down the road when it gets to scratched up you just peel it off and put a new one, but the paint underneath never gets damaged. Also because it's clear the paint will fade with the rest of the truck so you won't end up with different color paint underneath like you might with one of those black "bras".

You can either get a new hood or buy some factory touch up paint from the dealer. That is what I did for my front bumper and it worked perfectly and it only cost like $10.
