RE: mileage with the 4.7
Hey All I just took my "Brandi" for a trip up to Hotlanta 500+ round trip and got 17.8 on the way up and 18.3 on the way back. That was with the wife, kid, 2 dogs, a cat and 3 bags w/ clothes. I also had the bed box in it with both truck tools and house tools for working at the cousins house.
I have installed a "Ebay" K & N cold air intake at $70.00 and the Flowmaster Super 40 muffler single in dual out, sounds great. It was cooler on the way back, I'm sure that is why there was a little better return mileage. I'm sure I could do better if I stop racing the other drivers on the interstate. Stay cool, H-

RE: mileage with the 4.7
i think i seriously want a bit more power/milage.
right now the power is fine and the ride is great - but those few moments when you want to punch it ( i guess its to much motorcycle racing)
but if anyone has ideas for gas milage post up!
I'm QC single in/single out flowmaster 40 as well.

RE: mileage with the 4.7
The jury is still out on this one for me, I have 2100 miles on my 2006 1500, reg cab, 4.7L, 2WD, 5 speed auto, short bed, all highway driving, and have yet to break the high 13 mpg marker yet. Don't get me wrong, I like the truck, but my previous F150 similarly equiped, 4.6L got nearly 18mpg and had a lot better "oomph" off the line. I'm guessing the Ram must weigh a lot more than the F150. People telly me that my mileage will increase as the engine ages a little more (skeptical).

RE: mileage with the 4.7
i got a 2002 ram 1500 with the 4.7 with the 4 speed trans on it one the high way doing like 65ish i get around 17-19 on the highway but in the city it eats it like a baby on a bottle or nipple. but the power is thing is dam nice for the enging size and the weight of the truck its no super truck but i got the quad cab with a long bed and for weighting 4900lbs is dam nice to hold a 400ft burnout on the road, personally i cant ask much more than that

RE: mileage with the 4.7
The only real problem i have with the 4.7 is when i'm trying to pass on the freeway. It sucks when i go to pass some midget car and he/she decides to kick there gerbal in the butt and out runs me!!!! that extra 100+ hp in Hemi sounds better and better everytime that happens
