Default smaller wheels

Does anyone know if you can clear a 16" or a 16.5" wheel on a 03 ram 1500 4x4? I would like to step down if possible. The tire prices are a good bit cheaper and tire selection is a lot better, i like to play off road a good bit so it would be nice to find cheaper tires... also i want to go a good bit wider on the wheels to maybe a 16x10 or so....

Thanks in advance for the info

I seriously doubt it. The easy way to tell would be to check your brake caliper clearance to the rim. I dont think my 03 QC would fit any smaller rims due to the fact of brake clearance issues.

17"s are as small as you can go, right? I'm looking to step down from the 20's when I get back. Probably go to Mickey Thompson Classics with a nice off-road tire and keep the 20's for highway driving.

17"ers are about perfect size for looks and performance.
