Just pulled over
I think it is common knowledge that you cannot get very dark tint on your fronts (different %'s for each state), if you were a cop you would like to see if the driver/passanger were cocking their gun and getting ready to blow your head off....wouldn't you?
I'm not sure how accurate this website is, but it gives the laws for window tinting in each state.

If this is accurate, we all now know the laws. Break em if you choose.

Here is what you tell a cop when he pulls you over " Yes I know tint is illegal officer, but, the thing is my girlfriend/wife/fiancee' went and had it done as a suprise birthday gift for me this year. I didn't have the heart to tell her it is illegal and since it was already applied I decided to keep it, I figure it is worth it to get at least one or two tickets and not tell her rather than hurt her feelings. " Works everytime (except with butch lesbians I'm guessing) and I came up with that on my own. Feel free to use it in any anti-tint state except Illinois where I live, don't want the fuzz catching on around here.

No such thing here in good ol' Alberta. Nor are we required to run catalytic converters or anything else... Pretty much ZERO emissions controls out this way.
