Cool Video! or bad?
ORIGINAL: osteodoc08
For a "sport truck" the Ford really isn't that bad, especially when they initially came out with a sticker in the upper $30's. However, stock vs. stock, the Ram wins.
As far as the video, it is definitely biased, not to mention that the 'editor' can't spell "Finals" when it shows the drag at Richmond about half way through the video. What does that tell you? Other than that, I'm sure somebody's mother is very proud of thier son's high school A/V project.

Heres my take on the whole thing; First of all, driver has alot to do with it,unless your Ronnie Sox an auto will beat a stick every time, Second of all, traction with the srt-10 is dismal at best,I didnt see any 4 door auto SRT-10's in the video,I have driven both, the 4 door auto is lightyears ahead in the traction department, and Third,as my esteemed colleagues have mentiomed earlier, what mods were done to the Lightnings? Its apples and oranges,a 69 cuda with a small block and an auto was as fast as a 70 cuda with a big block, We may be seeing a small select portion of a clearly biased video, how many yards of tape did they have to edit of the SRT beating Lightnings?
here ya go,This is from Motor Trend, side by side comparison between the two,The Mopar with a good driver puts a pretty good whoopin on the Dorf, even in the slolam course!

I respect the lightning pickup, they did a good job but its an oranges to apples comparison up against the dodge. Now supercharge a HEMI and put that up against a lightening.
