Default Question for the guys with Superchips

I put Superchips on my Hemi about a month ago, and love it. Last night I registered on Flashpaq.com so I could check for updates. When I plugged the chip into the computer, it said I needed 2 updates. It automatically downloaded and that was it.

Well, this morning I uploaded the new program to my truck. I immediately noticed it idled at a higher RPM, had more throttle response, and the truck made more noise. I searched online for what these two updates pertained to, but couldn't find anything.

For those of you that have registered with Flashpaq.com, you'll notice they ask you what modifications you have done. I've done the CAI and exhaust. Well, since installing the upgrades, my intake is LOUD! Its not a bad thing, but when I get on it, it sucks air like it never has. Before, it was moderately loud, but now it noticeable.

So, I was wondering, could the two upgrades that I downloaded have been for the CAI and exhaust? I was thinking maybe it is compensating for both of them, thus leading to the better throttle response and CAI noise.

Any of you guys experienced this? I may call Superchips and see what they say.

Default RE: Question for the guys with Superchips

Today I spoke with one of the techs @ Superchips. He said the two updates to the programmer were "factory" updates, not performance. The performance one should be available "soon." Like we haven't heard that before!

But I'm still curious why these two updates would change the characteristics of the intake so much. I had one of my buddies listen to it, and he said it sounds like the throttle body.

My truck is all stock except a drop in K&N and the Superchips programming and I got the same 2 updates you did and the same changes you noticed. The idle is slightly higher and I hear more noise through the air filter. Nothing else seems to have changed.

Sure would be nice if Superchips would tighten up the tranny some more when they do thier next update. The truck has plenty of power but it's a bit sloppy unless it's in Tow/Haul.

Did you adjust the Rev limiter? I set mine at 6000 rpm's this morning, and it felt better.

I also put the truck back to stock, and then reloaded the performance setting. The "swooshing" sound I described went away. Now I'm confused lol.
