Is there a difference between a 40 series and a Super 40 series muffler from Flowmaster?

I believe the super 40 is a little quieter

 

They claim the Super 40 mufflers significantly outflow the older two chamber mufflers.

Dude , Those 40 series mufflers are like cannons. those suckersa are loud. Super 40 or not. [sm=bomb.gif]

 

The 40's are crazy loud on the dodge. Even with the resonator in place they are loud.

 

Iv got a 40 series on mine with dual exits. I like the way it sounds, later on i might take the cats out.

 

The difference is in the size of the actual muffler and interior flow design. Super 40's are made to replicate race style mufflers (5x10 and flat black). I went with a super 40 because they are larger and to me they give a little better sound for a truck, as opposed to the regular 40, I would say they are best suited for muscle or hot rod vehicle. This is just my .02

 

Super 40s are louder and sound deeper. I compared them to a friend's truck that has the regular 40s.
