'03 4.7L starting problem
Today after a cold start, 1 minute idle, driving approx 1 mile and stopping for a 5min errand, my '03 QC 4.7 wouldn't start for several moments. On the 4th try it fired up like normal however the MIL was lit. It ran fine on the ride home (5 mi.). At home I retrieved the codes, P0335 crank pos. lost, P0340 cam pos. lost and P1604 pcm internal dual port RAM read/write integrity failure. The motor restarted/ran normally on several subsequent tries in the driveway. I searched the codes and get reference to a TSB 18-013-04 for a flash which contains all of the above codes however it appears to be to directed at shift point and cruise control issues. No shift point or cruise control problems ever so I don't know if the TSB applies? The vehicle has 39,000 mi and has never had any driveability issues until today. Has anyone had this same event and if so what was the remedy?.

Been looking into this for you. Not sure if your vehicle is covered under warranty, and if it is not, then you may have to pay for the dealer to perform the TSB. I have read other places that this TSB changes the way the memory is accessed, solving the dual port ram problem which some people reported having.
I had a 1995 Dodge Ram, and had a check valve in the brake booster vacuum hose that would vibrate. I finally found a TSB on the issue, showed it to the dealer at about 95,000 miles, and they charged me to fix it, even though I had been bringing it in since it had 60,000 miles. I had the full 7 year/75K miles extended warranty. Lucky for me it was only about 20 bucks parts and labor to fix it, so I was not to P.O.ed about paying to have it fixed.
