Looking for a new high output alternator. any ideas. have 2 12s and 7 tvs tham thing goes out after 20 min. already have an optima battery but i was told that only helps a little bit that i need a new alternator for it to last longer, so im waiting to get a new alternator befor putting in the new battery. thx 4 your help.

I have no idea how much, and I haven't done any business with them, but hey, its worth a shot. They say 200 amps. You also might try looking up a dc auto electric shop (someone who rebuilds these) They may be able to build one for you. Either way, it sounds REALLY expensive.

 

There used to be one that was Green something or another. They produced 200+ amp alternators. Stock alternator puts out 136 amps I think.

I can't say I'm surprised at the price. I know it sounds really expensive, but that's the way of everything these days. I also suggested checking out a local auto electric shop too. You might be surprised by what a little searching around can get right were you live.

i paid 375 for my 250 amp alt only problem is it is a ford case(they are bigger i believe and have a better voltage reg.) neways just installed 3 weeks ago for Spring Break Nationals and did 151.9 with 4 15' L7's in a wall in my QC i cant get you a number to this place in orlando , only problem is you have to make brackets i put my revs to 800 cause i need the power you most likely wont have to have it reprogrammed i'll puts some pics on my prof. soon good luck on the truck.

Best deal I found is Iraggi Alternators, Dom Iraggi build high output units for a lot of vehicles including a 260 amp direct drop in Bosch unit for the hemi rams, same as the original 136 amp unit. He also made me a set of brackets so I can run dual alternators, the original and a 260. He sells on Ebay, just search for iraggi. He likes to talk to you on the phone but is a tad slow at replying to e-mails.
Here's a ling to his 220 amp for a hemi dodge, he does a 260 also but is not listed here yet.
Not cheap, but these are new Bosch units modified by Dominick

Something else you might want to consider isatwo battery setupwith an isolator.
I mean still get a HO alternator just add a second battery dedicated to yer electronics.

christ sakes, 7 tvs in a quad cab?!?!?!??!! can you view a tv from every possible angle you'd look in the truck?

 

why not just get a capacitor like they use for systems
