17 vs. 20 inch rims
Ummmm... Having 20's is not going to have anything to do with your traction, however get rid of the stock tires as soon as you drive the truck off the lot!!!! Those things were horrible, just in the rain, I couldn't imagine how bad they'd be in the snow....
Is the truck in this video even 4X4?
Agreed...looks like an idiot driver to me.
I dig the look of my 20's. I live in CO with plenty of snow and I haven't yet had the chance to change my stock tires even and my 20's do fine. I do have some sand bags in the bed which helps.
20's look good, and with nice tires, you don't have to settle for bad traction.

So what I'm hearing is its looks vs useablity. I have 17 inch chrome clads with 265,s. I was looking to go to 20's with the 275's. I live in up state Ny. Wasn't sure how the 20,s would do in snow. sounds like not good. Is there any better fuel miliage with the 20's. I have 3.92 gears in a 2007 ram quad cab. Thanks in advance for the info. In My "onion", 17's Would Be The Better Choice In The Long HAUL. The Tires Are Much Cheeper In A 17.. Plus The Smaller The Rim, The More Cushon The Tire Provides. BUT When Towing May Cause More Bounce With A Standard LT Tire.
i have the factory 20's.
Never had a problem balancing them.
Rim size doesnt affect snow traction.
The stock goodyear's, are the ****tiest tires ive ever owned.
Put toyo at's on it and lvoe them.
toyo's for a 17 in rim are 150-200, for a 20" rim mine were $298 a piece after mount/balance/tax
and holy *****, this thread is old. Thank god someone can search instead of re ask.

If you have to rebalance your wheels every other month, than that sounds like a tire problem to me. What kind of tires do you have? Maybe they're not wearing properly and then you might have a totally different problem.
I had 23 inch rims on my '04 quad cab 4x4. They were Toyo Proxes tires and I had them siped ($12/tire). That truck had more traction than anything I had driven previously on snow. It was also quieter and smoother than with the stock 17's and I actually was getting 18 mpg on road trips at 75 mph.
