17 vs. 20 inch rims
Can you guys tell me if there is a big difference in the ride of a new dodge with 20 inch rims compared to the standard 17 inch rims? Also are there any other pros or cons between the two.

Thanks

Ok....customers do notice a slighty choppier ride with the 20 inch rims...also you lose a 1000lbs towing capacity when you go to the 20 inch rims. The other thing for those that are "Vertically challenged"... it is a lil harder to get into...that is all I have heard so far...also the tires are expensive to replace...not sure how much tho
If you live in the snow belt, you may want to avoid the 20" option. I understand the 20s are not as good as the 17s when it comes to the white stuff. The other concern I would have would be the affect the 20s have on the heat buildup in the brake rotors.
ok the thing with 20s is that there is less rubber so there is a ruffer ride. however depending on the tread pattern is what kind of tracktion your going to have to deal with. tire prices are almost about twice the price and you need to do the math, (overall diameter of your wheel and tire). you want to keep the same overall diameter because unless you have a programmer for you vehicle then it is going to mess with the speedometer, odometer.

So what I'm hearing is its looks vs useablity. I have 17 inch chrome clads with 265,s. I was looking to go to 20's with the 275's. I live in up state Ny. Wasn't sure how the 20,s would do in snow. sounds like not good. Is there any better fuel miliage with the 20's. I have 3.92 gears in a 2007 ram quad cab. Thanks in advance for the info. Damn, you may hold the record for looking up a old post.
20s do fine in snow. It will "feel" like you lost a little low end power. Your speedo will also need recalibrated if the overall diameter of the tiresare larger, which it will be unless you get very skinny tires, in which case it would be bad in snow.

I really dont think 20's would be any worse is the snow than the 17's. I think the 20's have more tread width also, correct me if i'm wrong....
