Buying a 2500 hemi quad cab... doing 6 inch lift... need advice
I'm picking up a charcoal 04 2500 4x4 quad cab HEMI auto. I already have the rockkrawler 5.5 on order, and plan on running 37x12.50x17 trxus mt's.
1st Question is what would you all recommend for gearing? I lived in the jeep world for the past 3 years... so i know exactly what to gear a jeep too... but what would be a good combo for this dodge with the tranny its equipped with? I also plan on installing a aftermarket LSD, or just go out for a ARB if its available.
\
2nd question is... What is going to be the best sounding exhaust? My father has a borla split rear on his tundra, and i love the sound of it. Has anybody heard a dodge with a borla?
Anybody with any knowledge and advice please help me out.

Yeah man i'd like a CTD very much... but the price difference is enough to make me go hemi. I only make so much money.. and i'm picking up the hemi from a wholesaler for 16k, and its only got 18k miles. No way i can find a decent diesel at that price. I can even turbo the biatch, lift it for cheaper than getting a diesel with the same miles.
Go with 4.56 gearing. Otherwise with them 37's your gonna be feeling it. I have the stock 3.73 and had 35's and went back to some 265's until I can regear. It dropped about 3 mpg w/ the 35's and was ******* on power.
As far as the exhaust, don't go muffler-less. Way too loud. I tried it for 3 months and had many headaches from the rumble. I went with a Dynomax Bullet and it was a lot better for 5 months or so, but now its getting rather annoying too. You can still hear me 2 blocks away, under normal accelaration. I plan on getting a different muffler and running duals out the back.

your going to need a 6 in lift. 4.56s is all that is available and there are no lockers
out there for the front or rear unless you have a buddy with a power wagon that
is will to donate!. I have an 05 qc 2500hd. with the 4.56s the hemi has plenty o power
dont worry about the CTD its a waste of money and adds 600 pounds to the front of
your truck. if you do light towing and wheeling the hemi is great!. anther cool thing about
the hemi is that the winch set-up thats on the pwr wagon is available through the dealership
or mopar perf parts and mounts in the same location, you cant do that with a CTD.
as far as the gears i recommend the factory AAM gears avaailable through WESTCOAST
DIFFERENTIALS, there more pricey but there perfect and very strong. wheel backspacing
will also be key. 5in of bckspc is necc for 17x9 or 18x9. one last thing wil be the front
drive line angle if it isn't straight with the front pinion like from the factory, you will have front
drive line vibration. any other questions reply back. good luck!
