115 MPH is all she had. Whats up with that?
Mine hits 108. You can really feel the ECM pulling the timing as it goes strong as hell and then just runs out of breath/muscle around 108. Wonder how fast our trucks would be without the limiter, well drag limited, but without being limited bt the ECM.
I'm guessing somewhere at a clocked 125-135. Don't really trust the speedo at those speeds as they are typically wrong. A GPS reading at top speed would be interesting, just to get a closer true speed.

I agree 115 is fast enough for me as I probably will never hit it again. I see where someone posted that if you go any faster the tires could blow out. I have the 20 inch rims with the stock tires. I wonder if this is the reason for the speed limiter. Or will the tires handle higher speeds?
It might be,I found this on line, going to go check the speed rating on my tires now!!
Soon, other tire manufacturers followed and began to make high performance tires like the Goodyear Gatorback. New speed ratings followed: "H" was up to 130 mph, "S" was up to 112 mph and so on. A few years later, the "Z" speed rated tire was introduced which was "unlimited" or over 149 mph.

If you really want to go faster than 115mph, you can lower the vehicle to lessen the air drag across the underside or you can put tape over the grille openings and over each body panel gap to smooth the airflow over the vehicle.
Or you can just accept that we drive bricks and that you'll need a lot more horsepower to gain those extra MPH.

With the stock PCM mine cuts out at 105, the first time I hit the limiter I thought the truck broke! But with the superchips program I was able to go past the 120MPH mark on the speedo all the way to "L1" and this is in a 4.7L... so YES with the Superchips you should be able to go well past the stock 115 restriction.

Some of you guys are getting a liitle out of hand here with the speed issue. Like I said I dont plan on going 115 MPH anytime soon in the future.
The next thing someone might suggest is taking the body off the frame and shipping it to Germany so I can have them make me a custom aero dynamic fiberglass body. Then I can take it out on the audobon.

I was going to mention a Superbird style makeover, but that was a little over the edge.
(And for the record, I posted the tape idea as a joke, something they do in NASCAR and out at the salt flats.)

Anyways, I've got "V" rated tires... So, I'm good for 150MPH...
