Default what has made my 4.7l fast?

i have done very little modifications to my 2005 4.7l ram. Two, in fact. Custom simple glass pack exhaust and and a simple drop-in K&N filtercharger(thats what they called it on the box-lol- i know its funny but its true) well, ever since the filterjigger, i never rraced my motor. I've filled my truck on premium twice all the way from 1/8th tank. (in other words i've put good mileage on my truck using premium) as of lately, it went from slow to beinga truck that has been smoking everything that i couldn't before.... unbelievable speeds. ( and yes i have old videos for proof back when all i had was the exhaust.)

I know i may be stupid for asking such a question but is it just something temporary that my computer has done due to driving habits or is it really the combination of all the changes ive made? i doubt it could be the mods +premium fuel doing it cus that doesn't add much hp.
the reason for my astonishment--- i've never heard of someone else having this kind of success. W--T--F!

The custom exhaust you slapped on is helping the engine vent exhaust better and more efficiently, not to mention having a better air intake on it helps the truck breathe. These can result in the things you are noticing.

I'd also suggest new headers if you havent already done them...as it will only make the custom exhaust work better.

Are you 4x2 or 4x4? If you're 4x4, I seriously doubt 0-60 in 8.6, or it's hard to believe that even if you were 4x2.

I agree, those are some pretty steep #'s
you would see better gains from mid grade than premium. you are just wasting your money on the high test stuff. most of it will get wasted unburnt through your tail pipes. most logical assumption is that the computer has adjusted to an easier driving habit and flat footing it now will result a slightly faster response, but a sec and ahalf seems a little much for me from the mods you have listed. If you have the money invest in a 68mm tb from the fastman. worth every penny and will only help bring your times down.

Heh, yeah, the Hemi's will do that. I doubt a 4.7 would though unless it had some serious mods.

Premium shouldn't benefit an engine designed to run on regular THAT much! I think it might be wishful thinking the power gain frrom premium fuel. 5 points of octane isn't much. Now racing fuel might make a noticible difference!
I agree that completing the air system front to back is a BIG difference. Better exhaust without intake doesn't complete the flow. It's got to be able to breath in as well as breath out to benefit. IMHO
