Default 05 4.7 whine

I was just wondering if anybody elses 4.7l had a loud whine from the power steering pump. Mine is noticeable at idle and gets louder as i accelerate. My truck now has 3500 miles on it. If anybody brought theirs to the dealer for this what was there response. Thanks in advance.
Mike

check your power steering fluid level and seals, a misinstalled seal could cause a leak. Low fluid levels cause the PS to make noises.

my 5.7 '04 also makes a whine noise like what you describe. It sounds like its coming from the alternator, but the voltage never fads.

I have a 04 1500 QC 5.7L Hemi 4x4 and noticed a whine when turning at 12k miles. It lasted for about 2-3k miles before the power steering stopped working (dealership refused to acknowledge a problem until I could no longer turn the steering wheel). Something in the power steering went and the power steering pump was clogged with pieces. Everything changed unter warranty and since then no further issues.
