I have an 04 Quad Cab SLT. The drivers door lock wont unlock. I use the key fob and the other 3 doors unlock and lock fine, but the drivers door will not. Once I have the door open the lock still stays down and I cant pull it up. I tried closing the door and using the key and it wont unlock. I took the door panel off and sprayed some silicone spray all inside on the rods. Does anyone have any suggestions, Thank You.

 

Sounds like your door latch. Grab one from the junk yard. You will need to remove the door panel to get to it. Download the service manual, it will explain how to change out the door latch. There are some adjustments that need to be made after you change it out, so best to read the manual first so you know what tools you will need.

 

JUST HAPPENED TO ME LAST WEEK.. IT WAS THE DOOR LATCH... IF YOU WANT YOU CAN GET IT FROM THE JUNKYARD, BUT I GOT IT FROM THE DEALER FOR $36.. IT WAS A QUICK FIX.. THE DEALER INSTALLED IT IN LESS THAN 20 MIN.. MY TRUCK WAS UNDER WARENTY SO I WAS NOT CHARGED, BUT I DID SEE THE INVOICE AND THE TOTAL WAS ABOUT $200.. SO IF YOU DON'T HAVE WARENTY EXPECT TO PAY THAT MUCH.. BUT IF YOU DO HAVE WARENTY YOU SHOULD HAVE NO WORRIES IT'S A QUICK FIX.. GOOD LUCK
