Waxing the truck
Don't fear the buffer! It will give you a freaky smooth finish that you can't get any other way. I rec you try to borrow a DA buffer just to get a feel for one (absolutely impossible to hurt your finish w/DA buffer, that's why they were made). Then buy a rotary buffer if you're comfortable with one. Also cuts your time and effort by more than half.
To start, I love cleaning my vehicles. I recently got my hood and roof claybared and now I have that luster/shine returned. Eagle one nano wax has always done the trick for me. Be careful about which waxes you use though. Read the labels and see if some waxes have other stuff in their like cleaners and polishes. Nano wax and turtle wax ICE only will do the trick if you have a good surface. Also, orbital buffers do a really good job as well, but I there's something about using wax applicator pad. I like knowing exactly where my wax is going. And make sure to use microfiber towels. Anything microfiber is the greatest!!!
When you first get a new truck, There's a product called Raceglaze. It's a white cream in a plastic bottle 16 oz. It does wonders on paint even clear coats. You can put it on in direct sunlight or in the shade ,It doesn't make a difference. They also have a spray that you can use between polishings. it's 8 or 9 sprayings between each polishings. I use it on both of my show cars and my truck. .When I'm at a show people are always asking me why my paint is so shiney. It cost around $16.00 per bottle.
