Default should i be worried about my tranny?

well i dont know if this is normal or what, but ive modded my truck to have more horsepower and all and heres the minor problem:

sometimes (and not all the time) when i shift from park to reverse, reverse to drive, park to drive, or whatever, i feel and hear a knocking-like sound in my tranny and my truck jumps a little bit. I wouldnt even have my foot on the gas, only on the brakes. i would also notice this when i am driving. I could be behind someone going slow (like 25-35 and my truck is idling going at the same exact speed behind it and my foot is not on the gas) when they speed up just a little, my truck does the same bumpish-knocking thing when it starts to accelerate. no i am not giving it hard gas i was just acceleratinga LITTLE bit because if you remember, i was behind a slow person and you know how they are.

is it normal or do i worry WAY TOO MUCH?

thank you

I'm guessing that it is your rear U-joint. I had the same problem with my Jeep, and it was the u-joint.

If it is your u-joint, the u-joint will snap before anything else. Just get under the truck and see if it actually is the u-joints, and if it is, just replace it. It should only cost around $15. But if it keeps doing it after, take it to a shop.

Also, do you have a locker in the rear axle? Lockers will make loud bangs and chirps very often for some reason, but it is completely normal. The lockers in my Jeep bang loudly when I shift into drive and the jeep lurches forward a little. It might be the same with you.
But it's not a big deal.

How have you added all this power to your truck?

If it's a U-Joint it will happen all of the time. At least everytime I have had a bad u-joint in a vehicle it happens all of the time. It will also knock a bit when you take your foot off the gas. Get under there, grab your drive shaft and shake it around hard. If it moves or knocks it is the u-joint.

How is your tranny fluid level? Do you change it?
