Default OverLoad Springs

Okay, I want to add some overload springs to the rear of my truck. Has anyone added these?

I tow a travel trailer that is about 7500lbs. When I hook it up, with my distribution bars and all, the back sits a little lower than I like. I am trying to find some that will have no affect on the ride height, but will stop the leafs from sagging so much when the camper is hooked up.

I'd stay away from the add a leaf stuff. I would look at one of two options.

Option 1:Add some air bags that you can fill up with an air pump so that you can fill it up when needed to raise the ride height and you can deflate them when not needed.
Here's an example.

Option 2:Get the load leveling shocks that basically do the same thing. It has an air valve that you can fill up to level the ride height.
Here's an example.

Also, check out our many vendors, I'm sure they have something you are looking for. They often give discounts too.

Go with the airbags. Their easy to install and you can adjust them up or down from inside the cab, depending on the load you are hauling, all at the touch of a switch . They are only way to go nowadays. IMO

Actually, thanks to Horsepower TV they proved that airbags can actually improve the handling abilities of your truck too. I have even seen video where they will stop ur inside tire from spinning in a turn because they can distribute weight better. Stick with the bags and you wont regret it, plus that whole lowering trick is kinda cool.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the help. I didnt even think about the bags and they are better priced than a lot of other possible solutions.

I would either bag the back of your truck, or add in something called the Road Master active suspension system.

it is like an overload spring that improves load carrying, axel wrap, and even acts as a sway bar

check it out, they only take about an hour to install with simple hand tools

I sent a request to them for some info. Looks like it might be a possible solution too. Im not trying to overload the truck just get it to ride right under load.

I went with the Timbren (www.timbren.com) suspension enhancement system. It is like airbags but there is no blatter. They are just huge rubber disc. I pulled my camper to myrtle beach, on the 4th spring on the hitch(I call them helper springs, but it is a piece of the hitch that connects to the trailer). I got the SES from Timbren on Tuesday and installed them in about 20 minutes. I drove back home saturday night, on the 2nd link with no issues and much better handling and riding truck. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The camper is a 32ft Dutchmen with 2 slides, empty weigh is 7500LBS.
