K&N FIPK
I have a stupid question to ask, I have a K&N FIPK II on my 05 4.7l QC and noticed that since I put it on I get crappier gas mileage
which is what I expected, But I was told by a dodge technician is that you lose some low end torque by opening the airway. Does anyone know if this is true? Since having the K&N I have noticed that when I am cruising at about 40mph and need to go faster I give it a little more gas and it sounds like the truck is bogging out so then I have stomp it a little to get it to downshift or turn overdrive off.
With the stock air box I don't remeber it doing it this often. I appreciate the help.

I just traded my 05 4x4 QC 4.7L for a new 06 CTD. I had the same problem you had around 40 MPH and mine was all stock. My self I felt part of the problem in mine was that the gas pedal cable was to stiff. Also I think that the shift points in the tranny are set wrong, as I too had to press the gas pedal almost to the floor to get it to drop out of OD or use the OD button. It could be they need to work out the settings in this new 5 speed auto.
As far as gas mileage when I moved from Oregon to Iowa and loaded with about 800 lbs I averaged around 16 MPG. I got 18+ mpg here in the flat land of IA unloaded. To achieve this mpg I used Amsoil in the front gearbox, engine and also treated the oil with Zmax.
