Hey all im looking in to getting a electric cut out for my 2002 ram 1500, im just getting this by my mom she said when i got the truck that i couldn't touch the exhaust i just got done showing her how it works on line and so she finally approved just one quick question what size diameter is the stock exhaust. im probably going to have the cutout installed before the cat, anyone here have any problems from installing them before the cat or should i install behind the cat.. well thanks for the help in advance.

To answer 1 of your questions, yes. If you install before the cat, you will throw a code due to the 02 sensors being out of the loop so to speak. You would need to install an 02 simulator module, to trick the PCM if you want it before the cat.
If you install after the cat, as I have done, there are no codes thrown and it's a tad easier on the ear...........but just a tad ha ha ha.
I have a DMH electric cutout and was very impressed with the quality and the fast turnaround in receiving it.

However, if you get dual cutouts for before the cats, you will gain a more power.

Your choice. I believe it was a total of 12 rwhp if you put it before the cats. And like 8rwhp if you do it on the Y.
