Installing Pioneer Amp. Suggestions needed.
Hey all.
I recently changed my stock radio and speakers out with Pioneer equipment on my 2003 Quad cab. I am now ready to install a pioneer 600w 4 way amp. I was wondering if any of you guys have done this and where is the best place to put the amp. Its going to be a pain in the butt as the speaker wires have to be relocated to the amp and then from the amp back up to the head unit for re-attaching. I was wondering if there was a way of putting up under the dash.
Thanks, D

I highly doubt that ther is enough clearance behind the dash. I have my amp under the driver seat... but I had my audio guy do the install so it was easy for me. I have electric seats, so don't worry about the amp getting smashed when you lower the seat... There is enough clearance. It's out of sight also so don't worry about people stealing it.
How much power is your head-unit pushing per channel? If you have a decent unit (say 35+ per channel) you could probably forgo the 4 channel amp and make your life a lot easier. I have an Alpine 9833 with an integrated VPower Amplifier (with a cooling fan/heat sink built in) and it pushed 35 RMS. More than enough clean power for my Infinity components front and back...
