Default Reprogramming the electronics

Hi, I recently bought a 2006 Laramie 4X4 which had 17" wheels on. had Dodge replace those with 20" rims. I then asked them if they reprogrammed the electronic box in the truck to suit these wheels and I was told that it cannot be done. I am an electronics engineer and know what kind of electronics is out there these days and it is very hard for me to believe that this cannot be done. Has anyone else come accross this before? Due to this, my MPH is incorrect.

Sounds fishy to me!! I would ask another dealer or someone with a programmer. I upgraded my tires from 245x17 to 265x17 and it threw off my speedo and I had the dealer reset my computer to match the 265 size. Worked like a champ for my 2005.

245 and 265 are the tires width in mm... How could a WIDER tire throw off your speedo? A taller tire would, but not a wider tire...

Hey GL 70% of 265 is taller than 245, A 265 tire would be taller than a 245 tire.
