air presure ?
I think it is fairly subjective on what ride someone wants in regurads to air pressure in tires. I think many would say to run the recommend and adjust accordingly to the situation. Different opinions with ride, safety, tire wear/life and fuel mileage, to name a few, is probably up to the vehicles owner. So, if I where to mention a pressure and it related to something bad, I wouldn't feel good about that. However, in general I tend to run the front tires 2-4psi more than the rear(for general driving - no additional weight in box or bumper), seems to help with the ride on the roads I travel.

Not to question you, but are you positive you were reading the tire correctly? That is ALOT of psi. I have 275's on a 20in rim and I run 33-35 psi. It shouldn't be too much different for a 17 in rim, but definitely not 80psi unless you have 44" boggers.

As far as a recommendation, adjust to what Dodge recommends and then tweak from there. It should be listed on the door placard on the driver's side. I usually run 35 psi front and back on mine. They are the 265/70/17 on the 1500.
Maxreg, I understand what you're saying about the 80 psi inflation. Mine came with 80 in it also. That is only needed if you are hauling the maximum load. I lowered mine to 42 rear and 45 front. You will find it also helps the ride quality considerably. I now have over 25k miles run this way with no prob's. If you contnue to run with 80 psi "empty" you will wear the centers out of your tires.
If you have 265/70/17"rs BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A E-rated tires. The pressure light load recomended pressure should be: 60psi front and 45psi rear.
This is 2 adults and 250lbs cargo. This is the lowest pressure combo for a comfort ride and light load application. Doesnt matter if you have a Hemi or Diesel.

You did not say if you had a Hemi or a CTD in your 2500. If you have a CTD with 265 70 17 Load E then you want 60 psi front and 70 psi rear. Your best bet is to look at the card on the drivers side and adjust as needed.
