Prerunner is tright about dealers adding onto the factory warrenty if you get it done through them, I am going to get my cams done like that. But as for a bolt on mod like a CAI you never have to worry about not being covered in your warrenty, Lease laws really protect you when it comesto bolt on mods esspecially if they happen to help out with stuff like drivability or MPG. If the dealer cant provide top quality service within reason you have the right to look outside of that box. I was also looking at the Mopar CAI at first but it was about $150 bucks more and not said to be any different in gains. I'm happy with my K&N.

I had to have some work done the other day at the dealership and had just installed my CAI so I called to ask if installing one would void the warranty, they said no it wouldn't apparently intakes and exhausts do not have adverse affects on your warranty. I don't think if Dodge says it is ok here why it would be any different there. Again, I am just stating from my experience. I also called 2 dealerships for the same reason mentioned above and both had the same to say.

I clicked on this thread and noticed it was created by me...roughly a year ago though!

I never ended up getting a CAI so I have nothing new to report or any info about dealership warranties...

Hopefully, not out of fear. I still recommend this mod, however, it's your truck. If you're happy, we're happy.
