I've got the Ex-Tang Black Max. Put it on the day after I bought the truck last July. So, it's gone through Arkansas summer heat and chillier temps, as well. Though it doesn't really provide much of a security measure beyond "out of sight, out of mind", I love the cover. It's survived a few longer roadtrips. I bought the truck in PA and drove it back to AR, so it got well broken in on that trip in all sorts of weather, and it downpoured (to the point of having to pull of the road a few times) for half the trip back from Atlanta last Thanksgiving. All bags stayed nice and dry. I used to have a big G-12 cargo parachute back in the bed for a few months, and it never got wet.

It's got bows, which you don't like, but I think it looks pretty good. It's not as extreme as some other ones I've seen. Initial installation took about 30 minutes with my brother in law and myself, but now that I know what I'm doing with it, it can probably be put on in about 10 minutes. I've had the tarp off once or twice a month to load various things back there, and it's a breeze taking it off and putting it back on. I'd definitely buy it again, as I'm not a fan of fiberglass shells or covers.

I have an Xtang full tilt and love it. Its been in ice/snow and 100 degree sun. Still looks brandy new.

I also have the duraliner under the rail liner. I just trimmed it with a sawsall to get rid of anything above the rails, front and tailgate.

It sits just inside the rails....and is completely flat. The 'support beams' are built right in and roll up and out when your roll the cover in or out. Additionally, to hold it rolled up it just a couple hooks, no velcor, no snaps.

I bought the new Lund Genesis TRI-FOLD. It is the slickest unit I have seen. It goes on/off in 30 sec and can tri fold up or back and lock in that position for a total enclosed or open box. It is made of top quality materials and fit-n-finish is excelent. It is also lifetime guaranteed. I just put a pop-n-lock tailgate lock on so now the cover and contents in the box can be locked up for hunting and fishing season.

I don't care too much for the '06's, but that's a good looking truck you got there!

Thanks, I absolutely love it. I have owned 3 Dodge Rams before this one and can say "I am a die-hard Ram fan." The new truck is alot more polished than my other ones (in a good way) but still has the "tough as nails" RAM hard core feeling. Its a good evolution. SUV people buy Ford trucks, Old men buy Chevy trucks and Hard core truck people buy Dodge Rams.

I have the Downey SST cover........ Actually I have had three, and have sold the old ones to people I know and they all still look as good as my new one. The only reason I got new ones is one was for a Dakota, one was for an old ram and now I have one on the 05 Ram. It meets your expectations too.

1. It does look good.
2. Yes, It did increase milage.
3. No Security, and nothing gets wet in rainy wather.
4. Absolutley no Velcro...... It has sanps BUT not your regualr snaps.... Look at website so understand......... THEY DON"T BREAK.. and you can put it on in colder weather
5 Lasting.... Well the one from my 99 Dakota is still around, and looks good. Actually my buddy still has had his from 93 on his Ranger and it still looks good.
6. Tight all the time.... Tap on it and it sounds like a drum!! lol
7. Has low profile bows to keep it nice.... look at website

I have the extang tuff tonno. I had to put some automotive foam tape near the cab because the bedliner raise the rail. Other than that minor issue, my stuff stays dry and I live in FL. In my opinion you cannot beat the price from truck xpressions and it has a great warranty. It has already paid for itself by adding a mile per gallon. The tonno tonic extang sells will make it shiny black but that stuff gets all over the bed when the rain washes it off. Only something that rolls up would be nicer, but then you are talking higher prices and the extang is easy enough.
