2006 4.7 4x4 1500 QC..........what will a cherry bomb (18 inch) sound like installed on the stock exhaust??????????????? I dont want it too loud just a little deeper.

Well I haven't had glass packs on my ram, but I did have two ona dual exhaust that was connected to a 460 ford. They sounded good, but when I replaced them with two single chamber flow masters. Lets just say the extra money was worth it. Buts thats my opinion.

 

hey, i used to have a cherry bomb on my 5.9 ram before I grew up and spent a few bucks to get the aero turbine....Anyway, your not going to be happy if you dont want it loud. The interior resonance is loud and it is not very deep, it is more just like a loud roar, because it is pretty much just a stright through pipe. I did like my cherry bomb, but i am someone who wants the loudest exhaust out there. I would have to say though, that at 19 bucks from autozone, the cherry bomb is a pretty sweet bang for the buck and you'll be happy with its loud tone. If you want to make it really loud, just pour oil into the cherry bomb and fire it up. That'll blow all the glass out and you will have a nice loud pipe. Be sure to reset the computer after new exhaust.

what benefit do you get from resetting the computer after putting on new exhaust? i put an aero turbine on about 6 months ago and have never reset the computer.

 

the reset of the computer can help your exhaust reach max performance. It will enable the computer to start over and re learn the new air flow, which will help increase motor performance. Not a huge deal however i noticed much smoother shifting and ride smoothness, the engine seemed to work better. I went for two weeks with new exhaust and it got better when i put the exhaust on and even better when the computer was reset.
