Anyone know about speakers?
Hey guys,
I have an 03 Dodge Ram SLT Quad Cab. I'm looking to put some premium speakers in, and I'm trying to find out what the correct size may be for the front and rear doors so I don't have to worry about getting mounting brackets and what not.
Problem is, every website I check says something different. So i'm wondering if anyone here can tell me what size speakers fit in the front and rear doors. I'm aware that there are a couple of small ones under the dash, but I'm not looking to replace those at this time.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey Nic,
I put Polk Audio 6"x9" 3-way front, Polk Audio 5-1/4 2-way back. Sounds great, easy install, fits right in. I bought my speakers from Crutchfield they know what they're talking about. Try them real good prices too. Any questions just ask them. They will even throw in the speaker wiring harness to hook-up to factory wires.
Hope this helps.

Are you looking to improve sound quality or trying to go all out? You can fit multiply sizes, i know you can get brackets. I am running 6" JL Audio components in front and 6.5 Kenwood coaxials in the rear. I have the JL audio stealh box with a 500.5 JL amp. Personally I have used JL audio in 3 cars over the past 7 years and no complaints. It just boils down how much would you like to spend $$
components are the best. i'm planning on taking out my alpine type-r 6x9's in the front doors and replacing them with 6.5inch components and installing 6.5inch subwoofers in the rear all powered by a 4channel phoenix gold 800watt amp. also sound deadening everything.

I have 6x9 3 way in front and 2 way 5 1/4 rear all infinity and they sound great and are not badly priced on ebay also have 2 10' square L5 kickers under rear seat with an epicenter and that will give you all the bass you need for low $$
