Default Scheduled Maintenance.

Not too long ago I brought my truck to the dealership for a warranty repair. My truck has about 16,000 miles. The service advisor suggested that I should get my Diffrential fluid changed. at $160.00! Well thats too rich for my blood so I did it my self and I'm glad I did. It was really easy and it only cost no more than $50.00. Now here is the part that kinda confuses me. I was reading my "scheduled maintenance booklet" there are 2 sides A and B. A for normal driving and B for if you do severe towing and other hard driving condition. If you were to follow schedule "A" theres nowhere on that side that calls for a diffrential fluid change. Is this some kind of error.

Default RE: Scheduled Maintenance.

Just about all of us go by schedule B. As far as I know. And I only tow My Big A $$ around, no trailers. A lot of stuff you can do yourself. Diff Fluid is one of them. Spark plugs need to be done at 30K miles. It is true too because the truck will run like crap if you don't do it, so I would stick to schedule B. Just always look for the Do it Yourself stufff and you will save big. Just keep receipts so the Stealership can't say you never did it. They can't force you to have them do it or by Law they would have to provide the service for free.
