Default Installing New Shocks on Your Own

Has anyone on here installed new shocks on their own? Is it difficult to do or should I take it to shop?

Well that depends on how mechanical you are. If you take your truck in to get the oil changed, then no I would not do it.

If you are the kind of person who does the oil you should be able to handle this job. Helps if you have a hydraulic jack, and air impact tools.

Did you put on all your aftermarket parts??

Personally, I think it is very easy as it is just swapping out parts. For the front there are 3 bolt each shock, might be only two bolts per shock on the front for you 4x4 guys, and for the back, there are 2 each shock. It can be a pain sometimes if it is set up like it is on a Ford in the rear, but were talking about Dodge the Dodge is really easy to swap shocks on.

Thanks for the feedback. The only aftermarket item I didn't do myself was the catback.

In that case, you'll be good to go. Just take your time and follow the torque specs. Other than that, the biggest headache is deciding on a shock. Know which ones you'll go with yet?
