i have a 03 ram qc 4.7 4x4. i was wondering if i took just the muffler off and replaced it with a flowmaster or something like that would it sound good at all?? i would leave everything else stock, just change the muffler.... all help would be appreciated... thanks

 

My buddy has an 02 Ram 4.7 and he did just that. It sounds good. I went out and got the Flowmaster cat back, and am very happy with it, and I have an 03 QC 4.7... Both sounds great.. He has the 40 Series so his is louder than mine. (I have the 50 series truck muffler)

 

The 4.7L just like its bigger brother 5.7L will perform best with a single true 3"ID system. I would replace your "Y" pipe with a high fly "Y" pipe and add a 3"ID high flow cat.. then a single in single out High Flow 3" muff. Your 4.7L will LOVE this system.
