leveling an 03' ram?
The 03' model rams do not have springs in the front...only torsion bars. I have seen on that show "trucks!" on spike TV of leveling a truck by using the torsion bars. There is a screw on each side that if you tighten it raises the truck, has anybody done this?? I want to do it that way but i dont know if it will mess up the alignment or anything else major.
I finally cranked my torsion bars yesterday and am very happy with the result. You should get an alignment afterward, but that's about it. The CV angles don't change much, if at all, as long as you don't crank the crap out them. The only other issue is some people have reported needing longer shocks, but mine are still ok. All in all, it's a pretty easy procedure with minimum adverse effects.
I did mine in two steps. Did three turns and waited a month for it to settle. It settled a bit and my shocks were definitely bottoming out hard. Went with the Bilsteins for a 99 Dodge.
Gave it two more turns and it sits close to level. Had it aligned.
I noticed such a difference with the Bilsteins. I also put some loctite down the threads after I turned them. It had some sort of thread sealent in there from the factory. The wicking variety that will flow down into the threads.

Buying the keys does the same thing as turning the bolts.
I would call the ride more responsive now, even though responsive and trucks are opposites. A little stiffer but I would say an improved ride. I was very surprised by this myself. I expected the ride to be horrible and went into it thinking I might lower it back down if it didn't ride well.

all you have to do is lift the truck up and turn it like 3 full rotations in like you said you did? And do I need to get an alignment right afterwards?

Hello,
Make sure you get the mesurements very close before you go changing the level of the truck, THen just turn each side 3 to 4 full rotations "MAX" with the weight off the front end of the truck, Then take it right down for an alignment, Because you did indeed change the compression on the cambers and the tie rod ends
Home this helps ya out
